A qualified chartered accountant, Richard has extensive corporate finance and commercial experience, gained in both an advisory capacity and directly as Group Finance Director of a European telecoms group. In 10 years with Deloitte, he quickly moved from audit to corporate finance following qualification and led both Transaction Support (TS) and Lead advisory teams on a wide variety of transactions.
Richard's TS work has involved both purchaser and vendor due diligence as well as supplemental work such as advising on warranties and price negotiations associated with issues identified, with past clients including:

- Abbey National
- Cendant (Green Flag and National Car Parks)
- Fitness First
- Royal Bank of Scotland
On the advisory side, Richard has been lead advisor on deals totalling over £200 million, and has particular experience of turn around and restructuring situations, in addition to the more mainstream Management Buy-outs (MBOs), finance raisings etc. He has worked with owner managers, quoted businesses and a range of Venture Capital Providers and Banks, on deals ranging from the smaller end to in excess of £100 million.
Richard's interests include sailing, skiing and travel and he has occasionally been sighted wandering, apparently aimlessly, round a golf course!
