Alan spent his early career with KPMG Birmingham, latterly providing strategic advice and fund raising for a range of Midlands based companies.

He left the profession to participate in the first of two MBI's which he has undertaken, raising over £40 million for one of these. From this he has spent 12 years in executive roles, leading the financial transformation of a number of rapidly changing businesses. This included project managing a number of acquisitions, dealing with planning, fund raising and post acquisition management integration.

He has in depth experience of a range of manufacturing and distribution industries, particularly building materials, electronics, automotive and engineering. He returned to corporate finance work 4 years ago and has been with HW since 2003, specialising in fund raising, acquisitions and retirement sales of owner managed businesses in the West Midlands.

Married with two adult children, he and his wife are both keen golfers.
